Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): BamHI--4.1; EcoRI--4.1; PvuII--4.1; HindIII--uncut; EcoRI/BamHI--4.1. In 70Z/3 cells, kappa enhancer binding activity was absent in unstimulated cells, but was induced in cells incubated with lipopolysaccharide and interleukin-1, forskolin, or BrcAMP. The sequence of the insert, from the EcoRI to the BamHI sites is: GAATTCGGCA TCTCAACAGA GGGGACTTTC CGAGAGGCGG ATCC. The string of 4 G's begins the 11 bp NF-kappaB-binding site. |
