Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI/BamHI--2.7, 0.9; EcoRI--2.7, 0.9; HindIII--3.3, 0.3; BamHI--3.6; EcoRI/HindIII--2.55, 0.61, 0.41, 0.3. The probe detects a 9.7 kb BamHI genomic fragment, a 6.5 kb and 8.9 kb HindIII genomic fragment, and a 9.2 SacI genomic fragment. This was isolated from lambdaEZZ from a region about 13 kb 3' to IGHG3. This region and similar ones downstream of IGHG genes appear to be highly homologous spots of recombination involved in multigene deletions of the IGH constant region locus. |
