Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI--5.6; HindIII--4.4, 1.2; BamHI--5.6; AvaI--5.6; PstI--3.6, 2.0. Y-198 (ATCC 61168, 61169) and Y-253 (ATCC 61174, 61175) hybridize to the same human BssHII fragment of 1100 kb, and to adjacent EagI fragments of 600 and 460 kb, respectively. In HindIII digests, this probe detects a Y-specific single copy 1.2 kb HindIII band and a non-Y single copy band. |
