Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI--4.4, 1.0, 0.3; HindIII--5.7; PstI--5.7; EcoRI/HindIII--4.3, 0.9, 0.3, 0.2; BamHI--5.7. The insert encodes the 3' 500 bp of the coding sequence and 3' untranslated sequences. The coding sequence includes part of the fibrin binding domain, the 3' region showing species-specific variation, and a conserved cysteine. This probe detects a mRNA of 7.8 kb in human fibroblasts. |
